Things I’ve googled at 2 am
In no particular order…
How to get my baby to sleep?
How to get a breastfed baby to take a pacifier?
Why does my baby wiggle so much?
How young is too young for sleeping pills?
Just kidding about that last one.
We had another rough night last night. Someone refused an afternoon nap yesterday and it messed her rhythm quite a bit. We rocked, snuggled, massaged, walked, nursed, sucked on a wash cloth, nursed some more and nothing would get the little one to sleep. I found myself in the rocker at 3 am holding a very wiggly and fussy baby thinking of what else I could possible try. Dr. Google had no answers for me. So I did the only thing I could think of: I swaddled my 10 month old. Yup, I wrapped her up like a little newborn burrito. And you know what? She was asleep in MINUTES! Say what? We haven’t swaddled her in months! It was a long shot but I was desperate. I still can’t believe it worked. Take that, Dr. Google – I found a solution without you!
Have you found yourself googling things in the wee hours of the morning?

We have always used some form of swaddle blanket or sleep sack. We swaddled until close to 5 months. Then we left one arm out, then both arms. Now she has graduated to a Halo Sleep Sack. We keep the house cold at night so we want her to have something to keep her warm (safely).
